Refund policy

We curate exceptional home decor and furniture, partnering with the finest artisans and manufacturers to ensure outstanding design, quality, safety, and sustainability. We stand behind every piece in our collection and aim to exceed your expectations. If you’re not completely satisfied with your purchase, we accept returns of eligible items in unused, resalable condition within 7 days of delivery, subject to the conditions below.

Return Eligibility

Not all items are eligible for returns. To confirm eligibility, check the “Returns” section on the product’s detail page. Items marked as “Final Sale” are not returnable. We also do not accept returns for:

  • Custom-made or made-to-order items
  • Used items or items without original packaging
  • Altered items (e.g., repainted, refinished, cut)
  • Final sale items or gift cards
  • International orders or orders outside the contiguous United States
  • Design services

Restocking Fees

All returns are subject to the following restocking fees to cover processing and repackaging:

  • Items over $100: 20% restocking fee
  • Items $100 or under: $15 flat restocking fee
  • Shipping Fees: Original shipping costs are non-refundable.

How to Return an Item

To return an eligible item, follow these steps within 7 days of delivery:

  1. Request a Return: Log into your RachelBlindauer.com account at RachelBlindauer.com/account and go to “My Order History.” Select the item, click the “Action” dropdown, and choose “Return.” If you don’t know your order number, find it in your order confirmation email. Alternatively, contact our customer service team at hello@rachelblindauer.com or 415-572-3812.
  2. Receive Your Return Authorization (RA): Within 5 business days of your request, we’ll send you a return label with the RA number and return address. You have 14 days from receiving the RA to ship the item back.
  3. Pack and Ship: Return the item in its original packaging, ensuring it’s unused and in resalable condition. Include the RA number on the package. Items returned without an RA number, outside the 14-day window, or without original packaging will not be accepted and will be returned to you.

Refund Options

We offer two refund options for eligible returns:

  1. Store Credit: Receive a store credit for the merchandise price (minus the 20% or $15 restocking fee). Store credits never expire.
  2. Original Payment Method: Receive a refund to your original payment method (minus the 20% or $15 restocking fee), processed after we receive and inspect your return.

Fair Return Practices

If we identify an unreasonable return pattern, we may restrict or refuse future transactions or returns to ensure fairness for all customers.

Why Restocking Fees?

Returning items requires significant time, labor, and resources to receive, inspect, and restock products. Many returned items are not packaged to original standards or sustain minor transit damage, requiring additional handling. Restocking fees help cover these costs while allowing us to maintain our commitment to quality and sustainability.

Damages & Claims Policy

At Rachel Blindauer, we work closely with our trusted shipping partners to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition. In the rare event that your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please follow the guidelines below to initiate a claim. Our goal is to resolve issues efficiently while protecting both your investment and our quality standards.

⏱ Report Timing: Within 48 Hours

All damage, defect, or incorrect item claims must be submitted within 48 hours of delivery. Claims submitted after this timeframe will not be accepted.


📩 How to Start a Claim

Please email hello@rachelblindauer.com within 48 hours of delivery with the following:

  • Clear images of the damaged or incorrect item.

  • Photos of all sides of the original packaging (even if it appears undamaged).

  • Photos of shipping labels on both the box and the item.

  • Proof of delivery (signed Bill of Lading, tracking confirmation, etc.).

If your item did not arrive with packaging, please note this clearly in your message.

Once we receive the full documentation, our claims team will review your case within 2–3 business days and notify you of the next steps. Depending on the item and situation, we may offer to repair, discount, or refund the item. Replacements will be provided only if the item is deemed beyond repair.


📦 Freight Shipments (Signature Required)

  • Inspect the item before signing: If the packaging is visibly damaged or the item appears incorrect, note “DAMAGED” on the delivery slip.

  • Take clear photos of the packaging, labels, and item.

  • If damage is noted, contact us within 48 hours.

  • Refusing delivery without inspecting the item may result in redelivery fees.

⚠️ If you sign for a damaged item without noting it on the delivery form, the damage claim will be denied.


📦 Parcel Shipments (No Signature Required)

  • Open and inspect your package immediately.

  • Keep all original packaging.

  • Submit your damage or incorrect item claim within 48 hours.

  • Claims will be denied if:

    • The item has been used, installed, or discarded.

    • Original packaging is not provided.


🛍️ Open-Box Items

Open-box items are final sale. If an open-box item arrives damaged or incorrect:

  • Submit your claim within 48 hours.

  • Due to limited inventory, replacements are not available. We may offer repair, a partial refund, or store credit.


🧾 Missing or Incorrect Items

  • Contact claims@rachelblindauer.com within 48 hours.

  • Include a list of what’s missing and supporting photos.

  • If verified, we’ll issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions.

  • Once the incorrect item is received, we will ship the correct item.

  • We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages if delivery was confirmed by tracking and/or signed for.


⚠️ Additional Disclaimers

  • Color and natural variation notice: Differences in color may occur due to screen settings. Natural materials like wood, stone, or ceramic will vary. These variations are not considered defects.

  • Final decisions: Once a claim is resolved, it will not be reopened. All Rachel Blindauer damage resolutions are final.
