Smoke gray glass, blown by hand into a field of soft abstract bubbles — a bowl that catches light like a piece of weather.
Style Advice from Rachel Blindauer
I love this one centered on a dining table where the low afternoon light can move through it. It reads as sculpture as easily as it does function, so don't feel obligated to fill it — let it sit empty on a console for a while and just watch how the glass shifts color through the day. Pair it with matte, quiet surfaces — raw oak, honed stone, linen — so the glass stays the star. It also holds its own as the single statement piece on an otherwise spare shelf.
Product Description +
Handcrafted in a Polish glass factory, the Calder Bowl is formed by artisans working the molten smoke gray glass in a mold, pushing abstract bubble shapes outward from the interior wall with a round hand tool. Each bowl then undergoes an extended 24-hour annealing process to relieve internal stress and stabilize the glass. Because every bubble is placed by hand, no two bowls are exactly alike — yours will carry its own one-of-a-kind pattern.
