The pattern is barely a pattern: a linear texture worked in loop pile, ivory drifting into soft brown, closer to a woven textile than a decorated rug. It reads as quiet from the doorway and as intricate once you are standing on it.
New Zealand wool is the reason for the hand. Long, fine, resilient fibers that stay soft and spring back rather than matting. Hand-loomed by artisans in India.
Not all wool is the same wool. New Zealand wool is whiter, finer, and takes dye more cleanly, which is why the ivory here stays ivory rather than going yellow-gray the way cheaper wool does.
Loop pile also wears differently from cut pile — no visible footprints, no vacuum tracks, no shading. It is the construction I recommend when a client asks for something that will not look messy.
